Fire crews tackle major blaze in Alver Valley in Gosport

Fire crews are in attendance at a large heath fire in Alver Valley Country Park, Gosport. The smoke and flames can be seen as far as the Isle of Wight. A number of crews have been sent to the incident after staff at the Hampshire fire control became inundated  with calls. A police helicopters also flying over the using the thermal camera to look for hotspots to assist fire fighters in successfully tackle the blaze. Residents in the area are advised to keep windows closed and follow any instructions given by Emergency workers. This is a second blaze in a few months, the large blaze was previously reported on the 14th May 2019. More to follow
