Fire crews have been called to tackle a fire at Goodmayes mental health hospital in Ilford

A number of fire crews have been called to Goodmayes Hospital on Barley Lane in Ilford.

 

Crews were scrambled to tackle  a fire that has broken out on Knight Ward just before 10pm on Sunday evening.

 

Fire crews have been called to tackle a fire at Goodmayes mental health hospital in Ilford

Knight Ward is an inpatient mental health unit for female adults  who are in crisis and cannot be cared for at home due to the level of risk they present to themselves or others. 

It is currently unclear what is on fire and the incident is currently ongoing
