Fire Crews Called To Gatwick Car Park Blaze

Fire crews are currently on the scene at Gatwick Airport’s short carpark where a fire has broken out.

Police have closed the car park to visitors and passengers whilst fire crews deal with the incident that involves a smoking vehicle on the second floor of the short-stay car park.

At this stage, it is unclear what triggered the blaze which was put out before anyone got hurt.

A London Gatwick spokesperson said: “Gatwick Fire Service has been dealing with a car fire in a South Terminal car park this afternoon. There were no reported casualties and the fire is now out.”

West Sussex Fire & Rescue Service were approached for comment.
