Fire Crews Called to Old Castle Works on Wroxhall

There is currently a fire at the old castle works on station road in Wroxall, Isle of Wight. Fire and Police on scene and there is currently a 25m cordon in place. Cause not known and enquiries ongoing with Police and Fire Service. Residents are advised to stay in their premises and to keep windows and doors closed until further notice. A Spokeswoman for the Isle of Wight Fire and Rescue Service. said :”Firefighters are battling against the flames, which have ripped through a derelict building and industrial units off Castle Road. further appliances have been mobilised to the scene, including the Incident a Command unit from Newport and the water carrier from Freshwater.
