Fire Crews Called to Kitchen Fire in Redbridge Southampton

Fire crews from Redbridge support by neighbouring station St Mary’s have tackled a kitchen fire this evening at a property in the Redbridge area of Southampton. Crews where mobilsed to the incident just before 10pm on Sunday evening(4th December). A team of two fire fighters were committed to the property wearing breathing apparatus they used a single hose reel to extinguish a small fire in the kitchen. Crews managed to stop the fire from progressing and spreading to other rooms within the property. Once the fire was totally extinguished crews than ventilated the rooms using Positive Pressure Ventilation(PPV)(Fans) to clear the remaining smoke from the property. No one is thought to have been hurt. The fire caused some smoke damage to the kitchen.
