Fire crew called to rescue Heron Gulls in Freshwater

An Isle of Wight Fire crew from Freshwater have called to assist RSPCA to free two fledgling heron gulls from a roof in Freshwater today. The gulls had become trapped by the feet in loose roof tiles. Fire fighters used a used 13.5 ladder, a roof ladder and working at height kit to free the trapped birds. Once rescued they were left in the care of the RSPCA. It is understood that both birds escaped without injury
