A 57-year-old Woman Died In A House Fire, Prompting A Police And Fire Investigation

Fire breaks out in Southampton Tower block

Seven fire crews have been called to tackle a fire that has broken out at Albion Towers in Southampton this morning. Fire crews from St Mary’s, Eastleigh, Redbridge and Hightown are currently tackling the blaze crew where called to the incident just after 10am this morning. A number of Police are also at the scene. Hampshire fire and rescue have said that the fire is now out and no one has been injured. The cause of fire is not yet known. Some resident self evacuated whilst many followed the stay put policy. A number of council contractors are currently working on the building repairing ceilings. Hampshire fire have since advised that the cause of the fire was due to unattended cooking.
