Norfolk, UK – January 19, 2024 – In a tragic incident that has shaken the local community, Bartlomiej Kuczynski, aged 45, and his two young daughters were discovered dead inside their home in Costessey, Norfolk, along with an unidentified 36-year-old woman. The bodies were found by police officers who had to force their way into the residence.
Bartlomiej Kuczynski, believed to be a married father and an engineer in the property trade, lived in Allan Bedford Crescent at Queen’s Hills, a residential area housing approximately 5,000 people in 2,000 properties, constructed in 2006.
Norfolk Police confirmed that the deceased individuals included two girls, a man, and a woman, all from the same family. However, the identity of the woman remains unknown, and next of kin have been informed.
Authorities reported the discovery of a weapon in nearby woods but have not linked it to the incident. A cordon has been established around the property, with a forensic tent on-site.
Detective Chief Inspector Chris Burgess, from the Norfolk and Suffolk major investigation team, disclosed that three of the deceased individuals resided at the address, while the fourth was a visitor. Police had previously made contact with the family before Christmas in response to a missing persons report.
DCI Burgess commented, “We are still working to understand the full circumstances which led to the deaths of these people; however, at this time, we believe this to be an isolated incident. I recognize the shock and upset this incident will cause in the local community and we will have increased patrols in the area across the weekend. I would urge anyone with any concerns to speak to these officers.”
He also addressed social media speculation about a knife found in a wooded area near the property, stating, “We’re satisfied it’s not connected to this incident.”
The tragic incident has deeply affected the local community, with neighbours recalling the family and expressing their shock at the tragedy. Some neighbours remembered a missing persons inquiry before Christmas and the subsequent discovery of the individual walking nearby.
As the investigation progresses, formal identification of the deceased has yet to occur, and forensic examinations are underway. Police continue to urge the community to remain patient while they gather information and conduct a thorough investigation into this heartbreaking event.
