Road Policing Officers are urgently appealing for information following a tragic road crash that claimed the life of a 30-year-old man on Saturday, 22 July. The incident occurred around 13.25 BST on the A93, between Bridge of Cally and the Spittal of Glenshee.
According to the preliminary investigation, the victim was riding his Yamaha motorbike northbound on the A93 when the collision occurred. The crash involved two other vehicles, a Peugeot 2008 and a Ford Ranger.
Emergency services, including the Police and Ambulance, rushed to the scene immediately after the accident was reported. Unfortunately, despite their best efforts, the 30-year-old motorcyclist was pronounced dead at the site of the crash.
The drivers of the other involved vehicles, a 62-year-old male driving the Peugeot 2008 and a 27-year-old female driving the Ford Ranger, were fortunate to escape the accident without sustaining any injuries that required medical treatment.
Sergeant Brian McEwen expressed heartfelt condolences to the family and loved ones of the deceased, stating, “Our thoughts are with the family of the man who died in this crash.”
As the investigation into the tragic incident continues, authorities are urging anyone with information related to the crash to come forward and assist the ongoing inquiry. Sergeant McEwen emphasised that any details, no matter how seemingly insignificant, could prove vital in piecing together the full circumstances surrounding the collision.
“We are appealing to anyone who may have information that could help to get in touch,” Sergeant McEwen said. “In particular, we are asking those who were driving in the area around the time of the crash, or anyone with dash-cam footage that could assist, to please contact us.”
The police have urged potential witnesses or those with relevant dash-cam footage to contact them immediately, providing reference number 1699 of 22 July, when reaching out through the emergency number 101.
