Police in Westminster are urging witnesses and individuals with dash-cam footage to come forward following a tragic collision in the area.
Emergency services received a call at approximately 03:50 BST on Sunday, September 10, regarding a collision involving a car and a pedestrian on Harrow Road, W2, near Royal Oak underground station.
Upon arrival, officers and ambulance personnel found a male pedestrian, aged in his 50s, who was pronounced deceased at the scene. The man’s family has been notified and will receive support from specialist officers during this difficult time.
The vehicle involved in the incident, a Blue Mercedes C300, remained at the scene. The driver, a man in his 20s, was taken into custody on suspicion of causing death by dangerous driving and driving while under the influence of drugs.
Road closures are currently in effect as the police investigation continues, including a thorough examination of the collision site.
