A former Metropolitan Police Service officer is set to appear in court on October 30, facing a charge of misconduct in public office following an investigation into alleged inappropriate conduct with a teenager.
PC Che Homersham, 36, who was stationed with the North-West basic command unit, is accused of forming an inappropriate relationship with a 16-year-old girl between December 2018 and January 2019. The allegations surfaced following his professional interaction with the teenager during his official duties.
The investigation, led by the Met’s Anti-Corruption Unit and directed by the Independent Office for Police Conduct (IOPC), commenced in June 2023 after a mandatory conduct referral was made. Following a thorough review, the IOPC concluded the inquiry in May 2024, forwarding their findings to the Crown Prosecution Service, which subsequently authorized the charge.
Homersham is scheduled to make his first court appearance at Westminster Magistrates’ Court, where he will face the allegations. The IOPC has declined further comment on the ongoing case.
