Emergency services were called to Horse Guards Parade in London earlier today following reports of a suspicious package that raised initial concerns about an unconfirmed ordnance device.

The incident was reported at approximately 1:50 PM on Christmas Eve, prompting a rapid response from specialist teams. The area around Horse Guards Parade and Horse Guards Avenue was cordoned off, and a rendezvous point was established for responding units.

Upon investigation, the suspicious package was determined to be a laptop left in a bag. Authorities have since confirmed that it posed no threat. The cordon has been lifted, and the area has been deemed safe.

A spokesperson for the Metropolitan Police stated: “Emergency services responded swiftly to reports of a suspicious package at Horse Guards Parade. Following an assessment by specialist officers, it was determined that the item was not suspicious and posed no danger to the public.”
The incident caused temporary disruption in the area, but normal activity has now resumed. Police have reminded the public to remain vigilant and report any unattended items or suspicious activity.
