Emergency Services Respond to Serious Incident in Hilsea

A major incident unfolded in Hilsea this morning after a pedestrian was struck by a lorry on Gunstore Road.

Emergency services, including police, paramedics, and an air ambulance, rushed to the scene following reports of the collision at approximately 8:28 AM.

The accident caused significant disruption, prompting authorities to close several roads, including Gunstore Road, Merlin Drive, Copnor Road, and Williams Road. Commuters and residents have been advised to seek alternative routes as investigations continue.

The Hampshire & Isle of Wight Air Ambulance deployed a medical team, including a specialist doctor and paramedic, to provide critical care.

The injured pedestrian, who sustained serious injuries, was transported to a nearby hospital for urgent treatment.

Police are urging witnesses or anyone with relevant dashcam footage to come forward as they work to determine the circumstances surrounding the incident.
