Emergency Services Respond to reported Explosion at Ford Jetty, Dagenham

Emergency services have rushed to the scene following reports of an explosion at the Ford Jetty on Kent Avenue, Dagenham, this afternoon (Monday, 28 April 2025).

Police were alerted shortly before 3:30pm and are currently  on scene. Resident in Thamesmead reported hearing a loud explosion  sounding like a sonic boom.

The Metropolitan Police  source confirmed they are responding to the incident and additional emergency teams have been mobilised to support the response operation.

The nature of the explosion remains unclear at this early stage. There have been no immediate reports of injuries or significant damage, although authorities are treating the situation seriously given the industrial nature of the site.

We await an update from the Met Police.
