Emergency services are currently responding to a serious fire incident at Emerald House, Henley Cross, in Kidbrooke, SE3 this evening.
Smoke has been reported issuing from a seventh-floor flat. Reports indicate that persons may be trapped inside the property say one neighbour.
The London Fire Brigade was alerted at just after 8pm and quickly escalated with deployment of multiple fire engines. The London Fire Brigade Fire Investigation Unit (FIU) has now also arrive on the scene.

The fire is currently active on the seventh floor of the residential building. Emergency crews are working rapidly to gain access to the flat and evacuate any occupants. The situation is developing, and the number of people inside at the time of the incident remains unconfirmed. Crews wearing breathing apparatus are currently inside the building conducting rescue operations.

People living nearby are advised to stay indoors and keep windows closed, particularly those in surrounding blocks, as a precaution against smoke inhalation. Emergency services have established a cordon around the scene, and traffic diversions are in place in the immediate area.
