Emergency Services Respond to Fatal Collision in Woodchurch

Emergency services were called to the scene of a fatal collision in Woodchurch on the evening of Saturday, November 30, which resulted in the tragic death of a 17-year-old male and left an 18-year-old in critical condition.

Incident Details

At approximately 6:25 pm, police received reports of two males falling off a vehicle, believed to be a motorbike, at the junction of Hoole Road and Grass Wood Road. Authorities confirmed that no other vehicle was involved in the collision.

Casualties

Emergency responders arrived at the scene, where the 17-year-old was pronounced dead. His next of kin have been informed and are being supported by specially trained officers.

The 18-year-old was rushed to hospital with significant injuries and remains in critical condition.

Ongoing Investigation

Police are investigating the circumstances of the incident, which is in its early stages. A road closure remains in place, and motorists are advised to avoid the area. Officers are particularly keen to locate the motorbike involved, which had been removed from the scene before police arrived.

Inspector Ian Cowell from the Roads Policing team stated:

“This is a tragic incident that has resulted in a teenager losing his life. Another young man has also sustained significant injuries. Our thoughts are with their families as we carry out our inquiries.

“We believe there were other males present at the time of the collision, and we are working to locate them for information. We are also appealing for any witnesses, CCTV, or dashcam footage that could assist in establishing exactly what happened.”

Police are urging anyone with information or footage of the incident to come forward. Local residents and motorists passing through the area are asked to check any CCTV or dashcam recordings that might provide clues.
