Multiple fire trucks, at least seven, along with three ambulances and a chemical incidents unit lorry were pictured at the scene

According to a spokesman for Cardiff University, the incident has been contained, but the main building has been evacuated and temporarily closed as a precautionary measure. He also added that there were no reported serious injuries or casualties, but a small number of people are being checked by paramedics.

The South Wales Fire and Rescue Service received reports of the incident in Park Place, Cardiff and have deployed multiple crews in attendance alongside emergency service colleagues. They have confirmed that the incident is currently ongoing and have urged the public to avoid the area.

A Welsh Ambulance Service spokesperson has confirmed that they were called to the incident at 11:20am on Tuesday and have deployed a rapid response vehicle, and two emergency ambulances, and are being supported by the Hazardous Area Rescue Team.

The incident has caused disruption in the area, with police officers and emergency services currently on the scene to ensure the safety of the public. The cause of the chemical spill is still under investigation, and authorities are urging people to stay away from the area until further notice.

The university has released a statement saying that they are working closely with the emergency services to ensure that the situation is under control and that they are taking all necessary precautions to protect the safety of their staff and students.
