A devastating three-car collision near Heathrow Airport has left a man in his 80s fighting for his life. Metropolitan Police officers are urging witnesses to come forward and provide information as they investigate the incident, which occurred on Tunnel Road East on July 13.
Emergency services responded to the scene at approximately 8:52 a.m. following reports of a collision involving three cars near the Emirates Roundabout. The Metropolitan Police, alongside the London Ambulance Service and the London Fire Brigade, swiftly arrived to provide assistance.
The driver of one of the vehicles, an elderly man in his 80s, sustained severe injuries and was immediately transported to the hospital. Regrettably, his condition is currently classified as life-threatening. The man’s next of kin have been notified of the incident and are being supported by authorities during this difficult time.
In addition, a woman in her 40s, who was driving one of the other vehicles involved in the crash, was also taken to the hospital for medical evaluation. Thankfully, her injuries were assessed to be non-life-threatening and non-life-changing.
The Metropolitan Police’s Serious Collision Investigation Unit is actively conducting inquiries to determine the circumstances that led to this tragic incident.
