Elderly Man Dies in Scania Tipper Collision in Sturry

Investigators are continuing to appeal for witnesses after a man died following a collision near Canterbury

Kent Police was called to a collision involving a white Scania Tipper lorry and a pedestrian at the junction of Sturry Hill and Island Road, Sturry at around 12.20pm on Friday 19 January 2024.

Emergency services attended and the pedestrian, a man in his 80s, was taken to a London hospital, where he later died.

Kent Police’s Serious Collision Investigation Unit are urging anyone who saw the incident, or who has dashcam footage which might assist their enquiries, to contact officers.
