A serious two-car collision in Enville, Staffordshire, last night left eight people injured, five of whom were taken to hospital. West Midlands Ambulance Service responded to the incident at Highgate Common after receiving a call at 6:32 pm.

The emergency response involved five ambulances, three paramedic officers, the Hazardous Area Response Team (HART), two BASICS emergency doctors, and the WMAS Critical Care Car.

A spokesperson for West Midlands Ambulance Service stated: “On arrival, crews discovered eight patients, five of whom were male teenagers from the same vehicle. One of them was treated for life-threatening injuries, while another was treated for serious injuries. Both were taken to Queen Elizabeth Hospital for further care.”

The spokesperson continued: “Two more teenagers sustained serious injuries and were transported to Birmingham Children’s Hospital, while the final teenager from the group was taken to New Cross Hospital after being treated for potentially serious injuries.”

In the second vehicle, three occupants—a man and two women—were treated for minor injuries and were discharged at the scene.

Emergency services worked for several hours to manage the situation and provide care to those affected. Authorities are now investigating the circumstances of the collision.
