Drug Dealer Jailed Following Stopsearch
A drug dealer has been jailed for more than two years after we found cash, heroin and monkey dust in Stoke-on-Trent.
Wayne Forrester, 57, from Fenton, was sentenced at Stoke-on-Trent Crown Court on Friday (3 November) to two years and three months in jail after pleading guilty to possessing heroin, being concerned in the supply of class B drugs, possession with intent to supply class B drugs and supplying class B drugs.
It comes after officers stopped Forrester on two separate occasions in Fenton last year.
We first stopped him in August on Derry Street and seized heroin, class B drugs, more than £500 in cash and a mobile phone. The drugs seized were worth up to £1,130 and Forrester was released under investigation.
A month later, we stopped Forrester again in Fenton and found class B drugs, £575 in cash and a mobile phone. These were all seized by officers.
PC Lois Connell, of Stoke South local policing team and the officer in case, said: “We’re happy we’ve been able to jail another dealer who was intent on distributing harmful drugs within our communities.
“Officers across the force are committed to proactively targeting drug supply and will continue to act on intelligence leads and reports from the public to bring these people to justice.”
The activity follows our ongoing commitment to tackling serious and organised crime and protecting those who are at risk of exploitation through criminals – called Operation Target.
Work is continuing to proactively target the groups responsible for these crimes – including county lines, drug distribution, illegal firearms and sexual exploitation.
