DOUBLE FATAL STABBING IN SOUTHWARK: MURDER INVESTIGATION LAUNCHED
Overview
A murder investigation has been launched after two men were fatally stabbed at a business premises on Long Lane, SE1 this afternoon.
Police were called to the scene at 1:00pm on Monday, 28 July, following reports that multiple people had been assaulted inside the property.
Emergency Response
Officers from the Metropolitan Police, alongside crews from the London Ambulance Service, rushed to the incident where four men were found with stab wounds.

A 58-year-old man was pronounced dead at the scene despite efforts by paramedics.

Three others were transported to hospital for emergency treatment.

One of them, a 27-year-old man, has since died from his injuries.
A fourth victim, a man in his 30s, remains in hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.
Suspect Detained
Another man, also in his 30s, has been detained in connection with the incident and is currently in hospital in a life-threatening condition.
A crime scene remains in place on Long Lane, and the premises has been cordoned off as forensics teams continue to examine the location.
Police Statement
Detective Chief Superintendent Emma Bond, the senior officer for the Southwark area, said:
“Our investigation is in the early stages and we are working hard to understand the full circumstances of this shocking incident.
At this point, we do not believe it to be terrorism-related and there is no further risk to the public.”
She added that residents can expect to see a large police presence in the area:
“I would encourage anyone with information to speak with officers or contact the Met by other means.”
