Two dogs have been found abandoned and tied to a tree this afternoon on Dark Lane in Wolverhampton, just a short distance from the Birmingham Dogs Home – Wolverhampton Centre.
Staff described the condition of the animals as heartbreaking, with both dogs severely underweight, suffering from large patches of missing fur, hives, and obvious signs of neglect. The dogs were also said to be nervous and reactive, likely due to the trauma they have endured.
A spokesperson from Birmingham Dogs Home said:
“These poor dogs were left in a truly awful state. No animal deserves to be treated like this. We’re urging anyone who recognises them or knows someone who recently had two dogs matching their description to come forward.”
The rescue centre is now appealing to the public to help identify the dogs or provide any information that could assist in tracing those responsible for abandoning them.
“Someone must recognise these dogs or know someone who suddenly no longer has their pets,” the spokesperson added.
The dogs are now receiving urgent medical care and rehabilitation, and staff are working to build their trust and give them the comfort they desperately need.
