Dispersal order at Medway City Estate

Dispersal order at Medway City Estate

Kent Police will be enforcing a dispersal order at the Medway City Estate between Friday 19 July and Sunday 21 July 2019. The action is being taken following a number of reports about nuisance vehicles causing anti-social behaviour and, at times, dangerous driving. The dispersal order will be in place over the weekend, starting at 6pm on Friday. Under the order, any group of two or more people found causing, or likely to cause, harassment, alarm or distress can be dispersed by a uniformed officer. People under 16, who are not accompanied by a responsible adult between 9pm and 6am, can also be taken back to their home. Inspector Liz Jarvis, from Kent Police’s Medway Community Safety Unit, said: ‘Although the dispersal order is in place for a set time, anyone who drives in an antisocial manner at any time may be prosecuted or have their vehicle seized. ‘Antisocial behaviour can be distressing for the communities and businesses affected I would encourage anyone affected to report their concerns to us so we can take the necessary action. ‘Anyone with concerns can contact us on 101 or by using the online reporting facility on the Kent Police website.’
