Detectives investigating a stabbing in Basingstoke on Tuesday 18 July have made a fourth arrest – UKNIP

A 28-year-old man from Basingstoke has been arrested on suspicion of causing grievous bodily harm with intent.

The arrest is in connection with the serious assault of a man in his 20s in Queen Mary Avenue just after 1am on Tuesday 18 July.

The man sustained multiple stab wounds to his legs and was taken to hospital.

Three other people had already been arrested in connection with this investigation.

A 26-year-old man and a 29-year-old woman, both from Basingstoke, were arrested on suspicion of causing grievous bodily harm with intent.

They have since been released with no further action.

A 54-year-old man, also from Basingstoke, was arrested on assisting an offender. He remains in police custody.
