On Thursday, March 9, 2023, around 4.55 p.m., an incident occurred in the High Street.
According to reports, a teenage boy was assaulted while talking to four men outside a shop. The 17-year-old victim sustained stab wounds and was taken to a London hospital, where he is in a serious but stable condition.
The suspects, who are believed to be familiar to the victim, are described as black and dressed in dark clothing. Two wore black balaclavas, and one, who may have been riding an electric scooter, had large afro-style hair and was dressed in a dark green jacket and jeans. Following the incident, they fled towards Green Street.
‘An investigation is underway into the circumstances of the incident, and enquiries are being completed by officers in the area,’ said Detective Inspector Pete Smith of Medway CID.
‘We are encouraging witnesses and anyone with information to contact our appeal line. Drivers with dashcams and residents with private CCTV are also encouraged to search for footage that may be useful.’
