Detectives Are Renewing Appeals For Help To Find Missing Rashid Elsafi-bakkar, 14, From Brent

Rashid, from the Wembley area, was last seen at his home address at about 10pm on Sunday, 20 March.

He was reported as missing around 5.30pm on Monday, 21 March and has not been seen or heard from since. It was thought that he had gone to school on Monday but it is confirmed that he did not attend.

Detective Chief Inspector Tony Bellis, from the North West Command Unit, is leading the investigation. He said: “As time passes our concern for Rashid is growing. He’s a young man, only 14, and while our work to establish all the facts continues, there appears to be no clear reason at this time for his going missing.

“It’s completely out of character for him and nothing like this has ever happened before. We’re doing all we can to support Rashid’s family, who are desperate for him to come home, and we need the public’s support.

“We’re still building up a picture of Rashid’s life and want to hear from any of his friends and associates who have any information that they think could be useful. We’re in touch with Rashid’s school and they continue to offer support to his fellow students, who are also of course very concerned.

“We’ve spoke to a number of people but remain keen to hear from anyone who has yet to speak to us. Even if you think your information might be insignificant, you must tell us. The slightest fragment could prove vital.

“I want to also appeal directly to Rashid to come home. Rashid – you are not in any trouble at all. Our only concern is for your safety and all we want is to get you home to your family. Please contact us and let us know you’re safe.”

Anyone who sees Rashid or has any information regarding his whereabouts is urged to call police – for an immediate sighting please dial 999 or if you have information as to where he may be the call 101 quoting 22MIS009512.
