Detectives Appeal for Witnesses Following Fatal Collision in Harrow

Detectives are urging witnesses and road users with any footage to come forward after a fatal collision in Harrow on Monday evening.

Police were called at 9.19pm on Monday, 24 February, to reports of a serious collision on Bessborough Road involving a car, a bus, and multiple pedestrians.

Emergency services, including officers from the Metropolitan Police, London Ambulance Service, and London’s Air Ambulance, quickly responded to the scene. Despite the best efforts of paramedics, a female pedestrian in her 40s was tragically pronounced dead at the scene.

Two other pedestrians sustained injuries and were taken to hospital. Police confirmed that their conditions are not life-threatening.

The driver of the car involved remained at the scene and was arrested on suspicion of causing death by dangerous driving. He is currently in custody as investigations continue.

Road closures were temporarily implemented in the area to facilitate emergency services and investigative work but have since been lifted.

Detectives are now appealing for anyone who witnessed the incident or may have captured footage, particularly drivers with dashcam recordings, to come forward. Those with information are urged to contact police on 101 or via ‘X’ (@MetCC) quoting CAD 7193/24FEB25. Alternatively, information can be provided anonymously through Crimestoppers at 0800 555 111.

The Metropolitan Police continue to investigate the circumstances surrounding this tragic incident and are seeking any information that could assist their inquiries.
