Firefighters Tackle Woodland Blaze in Dartford’s Joyden’s Wood

Kent Fire and Rescue Service responded to a woodland fire this afternoon (Sunday 29 June) in Joyden’s Wood, Dartford.

Crews were called just after 4:09pm to Summerhouse Drive, where flames had broken out within the wooded area.

Firefighting Response

Two fire engines, a Utility Terrain Vehicle (UTV) and a wildfire response van were sent to the scene. Firefighters quickly got the blaze under control using high-pressure hose reel jets.

No Injuries Reported

There are no reported injuries, and the cause of the fire remains unknown at this stage.

A Kent Fire and Rescue Service spokesperson said:

“Crews responded swiftly and worked to extinguish the fire in the woodland using hose reel jets. The situation was brought under control by 4:55pm.

With warm and dry conditions persisting across Kent, fire officials are again urging the public to avoid lighting fires in or near wooded areas.

Anyone with information about the fire or who may have seen suspicious activity in the area is urged to contact Kent Police via 101, or report anonymously to FireStoppers on 0800 169 5558.
