Cowes lifeboat assists 36ft yacht in Osbourne bay

The Cowes RNLI lifeboat was called into service for a third time in 24 hours. Just before 10am on Friday a 36ft yacht was in difficulty in Osborne Bay. The yacht was destin to sail into Portsmouth. Hailing the passing Cowes Lifeboat after making slow progress sailing very slowly against the tide and with a faulty engine the yacht skipper asked for assistance to the Portsmouth Harbour entrance where they hoped to meet with a rib who could tow them back to berth. That rib did not materialise so the lifeboat put the yacht in an alongside tow to a safe berth in Gosport.
