County Lines Drug Supplier Jailed Following Greater Manchester Police Investigation

Kielan Shennan, from Munn Road in Manchester, has been sentenced to 3 years and 9 months in prison following an investigation by the Greater Manchester Police county lines team. Shennan’s involvement in the supply of Class A drugs, specifically crack cocaine and heroin, in the Lancashire areas of Burnley and Rossendale led to his arrest and subsequent imprisonment.

The county lines team initiated an investigation after phone evidence implicated a mobile number in a busy drug line. Determining the identity and location of the individual in control of the phone became a priority for the team. Mobile phone evidence and CCTV enquiries pointed to Kielan Shennan, leading to his arrest on 16th August 2023.

A search of Shennan’s residence uncovered a substantial quantity of heroin and over £1,500 in cash, reinforcing the evidence against him. The investigation revealed Shennan’s pivotal role in organising ‘drug runners’ and his leading position in the supply chain of Class A drugs for the county line.

Shennan pleaded guilty to charges including being concerned in supplying a quantity of cocaine, possessing with intent to supply Class A heroin, and possessing criminal cash under section 4(1) of the Misuse of Drugs Act 1971.

PC J Claxton of GMP county lines team emphasised Shennan’s significance as a key player in a county line operation, supplying substantial amounts of crack cocaine and heroin to Burnley and Rossendale. Claxton expressed satisfaction with the sentence, highlighting the message it sends to criminals involved in drug supply.
