SHOCKING DISCOVERY ‘Child’ Found Dead in Ancient Devon Woodland – Major Police Probe Underway

Shock Discovery Near Awliscombe

Police have launched a serious investigation after the body of a suspected child was found in woodland close to the Devon village of Awliscombe. The grim discovery came this afternoon near Hembury Hillfort, a historic site dating back to the Iron Age.

Police Lock Down Area, Roads Closed

Emergency services were alerted after walkers stumbled upon the body. A large police cordon now seals off the area while multiple roads remain shut. Forensic teams and specialists are scouring the surrounding woodland, searching for any clues that might explain the death.

Identity and Details Still Unconfirmed

Devon and Cornwall Police have yet to officially confirm the age or gender of the victim, and no formal ID has been made. Enquiries continue as officers piece together the tragic circumstances.

“We were called to reports of a body being found in a rural location near Awliscombe at around 11.20am today, Saturday, 18 October,” a police spokesperson told Plymouth Plus.

“A police cordon has been set up at the scene and some road closures have been put in place in the area.”

“Officers are expected to remain at the scene for some time and enquiries are ongoing.”
