Chemical Incident at Fulham Block of Flats sees one taken to hospital

Eight fire engines and around 60 firefighters have been dispatched to a chemical incident at a block of flats on Landridge Road in Fulham.

Emergency Response

The London Fire Brigade received the call at 12.35 am, and firefighters from multiple stations, including Fulham, Wandsworth, Euston, Bethnal Green, Hammersmith, Kensington, Battersea, and Chiswick, are currently on the scene.

Casualties and Evacuation

One man from a first-floor flat in the five-storey building has been taken to the hospital by the London Ambulance Service. Additionally, three other residents are being treated on the scene for injuries or exposure.

Firefighters wearing breathing apparatus are assisting residents with the evacuation of the property. The exact nature of the chemical involved has not yet been disclosed.

Station Commander Graham Crow, who is at the scene, described the incident as “protracted” and warned that crews would be on-site for several hours. Motorists are advised to avoid the area to prevent traffic congestion,” he added.
