MIDNIGHT MUGGINGS Chatham Knife Robbers Jailed for Nearly 17 Years After Brutal Stabbing

Midnight Mugging Turns Violent

Two violent robbers in Chatham have been locked up for almost 17 years after stabbing a man multiple times during a terrifying midnight hold-up. The victim, a man in his 50s, had just stepped outside to visit friends in Luton on 20 February 2024 when he was ambushed.

After handing over £100 and his phone under threat, the crooks turned savage, stabbing him repeatedly when he said he had no more cash. Miraculously, the victim survived the savage attack after being rushed to hospital.

Police Crack Down on Chatham Knife Thugs

Following a relentless investigation and CCTV analysis, detectives tracked down the criminals. They arrested 34-year-old knife-wielding Aakeem Kelliot and 41-year-old Max Alexander, both homeless, just two days later.

Kelliot admitted wounding with intent, while Alexander was convicted of robbery at Maidstone Crown Court.

Long Jail Terms for Violent Attackers

On 14 October 2025, Kelliot was slapped with 10 years and four months inside. Alexander got six years and six months. Both now face lengthy stints behind bars.

DS Richard Taylor said: “This was a violent assault on an unsuspecting man. He didn’t expect to be stabbed, and it’s only by chance his injuries weren’t fatal. Kelliot and Alexander used violence to steal from him but were swiftly caught by Medway detectives. Their miscalculation landed them lengthy prison terms.”
