Suspect Arrested Following Assault Outside Chatham Pub

Kent Police are appealing for witnesses after a man was arrested in connection with a reported assault outside a pub in Chatham on Friday night.

The incident occurred at approximately 10.15pm on Friday 18 July 2025 outside the Waggon at Hale public house on Capstone Road. A man in his 30s, who had just left the premises, was reportedly attacked by a stranger. He sustained a facial injury and later sought treatment at hospital.

Police patrols responded to the report and, later that evening, arrested a 34-year-old man from Chatham at a nearby address. He was conditionally bailed the following day and is due to return to the police station while enquiries continue.

Officers are now urging any witnesses or those with information about the incident to come forward.

A police spokesperson said: “We are particularly keen to hear from anyone who was in the area at the time and may have seen or heard anything suspicious. Your information could be vital to our investigation.”
