Cenotaph Damaged in Keedwell Hill, Long Ashton During D Day Week

An investigation is underway following the damage to a war memorial in Keedwell Hill. Authorities were alerted shortly after 11:00am this morning (June 5) when it was discovered that the memorial had been vandalised with a flagpole and an attempt had been made to set it on fire.

The incident is believed to have occurred between 8pm on Tuesday, June 4, and 8 08:00 on Wednesday, June 5. PC James Coglan, who is leading the investigation, emphasised the sensitivity of the situation, especially given the timing. He stated, “We fully appreciate the significance of this memorial, and we are committed to conducting a thorough inquiry.”
