British Transport Police (BTP) are releasing a CCTV image in connection with an assault that took place on a train travelling from Blackfriars to Brighton. The incident occurred on Saturday, 24 June, at approximately 2:40 pm. Investigators are appealing to the public for information that may help identify the individual captured in the image.
According to the authorities, the victim, who was accompanied by friends, boarded the train and sat next to an unfamiliar man. However, the situation quickly escalated as the unknown man became verbally aggressive towards the victim. The confrontation culminated in the assailant striking the victim in the head, causing him to lose consciousness. The assailant disembarked at London Bridge station before fleeing the scene.
The victim sustained injuries, including bruising and a perforated eardrum, as a result of the assault. Detectives from BTP are urging anyone who may recognize the individual in the CCTV image or possess any relevant information to come forward and assist with their investigation.
