Car Fire on A2 Temporarily Closes Road
Bedroom Fire in Ashford Extinguished by Fire Crews

A car fire on the A2 coastbound near Singlewell prompted a swift response from the Kent Fire and Rescue Service today. The incident, reported at 5:15 PM, saw two fire engines dispatched to the scene.

Firefighters, equipped with breathing apparatus, extinguished the blaze using a high-pressure hose reel jet and compressed air foam system (CAFs). Additional equipment used in the operation included safe access tools, the Jaws of Life hydraulic spreaders, rams, cutting tools, and a thermal imaging camera.

The road was temporarily closed to ensure safety as the crews worked to control the fire. Thankfully, no injuries were reported.

The quick response and effective measures taken by the fire service ensured that the situation was managed promptly, allowing the road to reopen shortly after the scene was declared safe.
