Southern Water says some homes in Ryde and Surrounding area may experience low pressure or no water supply at all following a water main burst. Engineers are working on to restore water supplies to some parts of Ryde after a pipe burst on Ashey Road on the outskirts of Ryde this morning (Sunday May 20). Emergency repairs are being carried out as a result of the failure. The road has been closed and is likley to remain closed until Monday evening whilst emergency repairs are carried out. Southern Water confirmed the leak was discovered on Ashey Road, early this morning. As a result of the burst pipe, the utility company said homes in the area were experiencing low water pressure, or no water supply at all. A spokesperson from Southern Water said : “This morning we’ve discovered a burst water pipe on Ashey Road, which may be causing water supplies to be off or at low pressure for some of our customers. We know how difficult it is to have no water, especially at this time of day, we’re sorry for the inconvenience this may be causing. “We’d like to reassure our customers that we’re doing everything we can to get the water supplied back on as soon as we can.”
