Pair Jailed for Terrifying england/Sheernesssheerness/”>Sheerness Burglary Spree
Two burglars who terrorised homes in Sheerness, threatening an occupant at knifepoint, have been locked up following a string of break-ins.
Serial Burglaries Across Sheerness
David Hansen and Ryan Kiely pleaded guilty at Maidstone Crown Court to a series of offences after hitting multiple residential properties. Their spree kicked off on 20 February 2025 in wales/Southseasouthsea-wales/”>Southsea Avenue, Minster on Sea, where Hansen broke in, stole jewellery, documents, car keys, and even made off with a van parked outside.

Just a week later, on 27 February, the duo struck again at a Fleetwood Close home. Despite no one being in, they smashed a window and ransacked the property, stealing watches, jewellery, cash, and other valuables.
Threats Made During Third Break-In
Matters turned uglier a week later when Hansen and Kiely targeted a third property. This time, they caught an occupant inside. After making threatening moves, they snatched designer handbags and a mobile phone before fleeing.
Justice Served: Jail Time for Burglars
The pair were arrested on 24 April, charged the next day, and sentenced on 22 September after admitting multiple counts of burglary and going equipped to burgle.
- David Hansen was sentenced to four years and nine months, also admitting theft and false imprisonment.
- Ryan Kiely received three years and nine months behind bars.
Detective Constable Kati Goldsmith said: “Hansen and Kiely are aggressive offenders who show no regard for their victims. Everyone deserves to feel safe in their own homes. I’m pleased these custodial sentences send a clear message that this brazen behaviour won’t be tolerated. We hope this brings some closure to those affected.”
