Breaking:Further Terror Arrest Teenager arrested Bishop’s Stortford

Officers from the Metropolitan Police Counter Terrorism Command have arrested a 19-year-old man on Wednesday, 23 May at 6.57pm for the offence of preparation of terrorist acts, contrary to Section 5 of the Terrorism Act 2006. The arrest took place in the street in Bishop’s Stortford, Hertfordshire. The man was arrested under the Police and Criminal Evidence Act and taken into custody at a south London police station. Officers are also carrying out a search at an address in Bishop’s Stortford. Enquiries continue. This activity is connected to the arrest of an 18-year-old man on Friday, 18 May, on suspicion of preparation of terrorist acts, contrary to Section 5 of the Terrorism Act 2006 and the arrest of a 20-year-old woman on Wednesday, 23 May in south London for the offence of failing to disclose information about acts of terrorism, contrary to Section 38B of the Terrorism Act 2000. Two other remain in custody at this time.
