A brave female bus driver has been hailed for her quick thinking and composure after a man armed with a knife launched an attack on buses and cars in Gosport this morning.

Around 5:45am, the man began terrorizing innocent bystanders, slashing tyres on multiple cars and threatening passersby along Queens Road, Stoke Road, and Elmhurst Road. In an attempt to stop the dangerous rampage, the man approached a First Bus, pulling out a knife. However, thanks to the swift actions of the bus driver, the situation was contained without anyone being harmed.

Footage shared on social media shows the male attacking the bus, but the quick-thinking driver was able to drive away safely with all passengers unharmed. Despite the terrifying ordeal, the driver remained calm, ensuring the safety of everyone on board.

First Bus representatives have since praised the driver’s heroic actions. A spokesperson for the company said: “The safety and well-being of our customers, drivers, and the public is our number one priority, and we’d like to thank our driver who calmly and professionally handled the situation to ensure everyone on board was safe.”

Locals have also shown immense admiration for the bus driver. One person wrote on social media: “Well done to the E2 bus driver at 6:30am this morning for keeping all his passengers safe after a knife attack.” Many others echoed similar sentiments, expressing their gratitude for the driver’s bravery and urging for formal recognition of her actions.

Police arrested the man shortly after the incident, and no injuries were reported. The investigation is ongoing, with authorities working to understand the motive behind the attack.
