FEARLESS Brave Cops Snuff Out East London Sword Rampage

Last year’s horrific attack in Hainault, East London, could have been even worse if not for the fearless actions of frontline police officers. Their courage has earned them the Pride of Britain’s Outstanding Bravery Award.

Sword-Wielding Killer Stopped in His Tracks

Marcus Arduini Monzo went on a deadly rampage, murdering 14-year-old Daniel Anjorin in a savage sword attack. He then crashed into a house, hit a pedestrian, and even attacked ambulance staff before being confronted by unarmed police officers.

PC Yasmin Mechem-Whitfield and PC Cameron King were first on the scene. Yasmin endured a brutal assault with the 60cm samurai-style sword, suffering catastrophic injuries to her arm and hand.

Officers Risk Lives Without Proper Gear

PC King bravely stood between the attacker and his wounded colleague, despite having no Taser. Monzo fled but was soon cornered by more officers.

Inspector Moloy Campbell sprinted to the chaotic scene from his briefing, without a Taser. When pepper spray failed, he fought back using only his baton. The attacker slashed through his body camera and nearly took his thumb.

Heroic Actions Saved Lives

Thanks to these officers’ quick thinking and bravery, Monzo was finally subdued. Without their fearless intervention, more innocent people would have been hurt or worse.

We owe a huge debt of gratitude to these brave men and women risking everything to keep us safe.
