Dragged Under Metrolink Tram in Wythenshawe
A terrifying accident unfolded at around 3.30pm today when a boy was struck and dragged beneath a tram at the Crossacres stop in Wythenshawe, Manchester.
Emergency services rushed to the scene after frantic witnesses spotted the youngster caught under the Metrolink service. Paramedics quickly pulled him to safety and rushed him to hospital.
Serious and Potentially Life-Threatening Injuries
The boy, whose age is not yet confirmed, is said to be suffering life-changing and potentially life-threatening injuries. A police cordon remains in place as investigations continue.
A Greater Manchester Police spokesperson confirmed: “Emergency services are currently responding to reports of a serious incident on the tram network at Crossacres tram stop in Wythenshawe. Trams to Manchester Airport have been suspended whilst emergency enquiries are carried out.”
Shocked Locals React
Witnesses at the scene described the moment in horror. One local said, “I just heard all the sirens – police, ambulance, even a helicopter landed nearby. It was completely shocking.”
Another local mother told the M.E.N, “It’s just so sad, I’m so sorry for the parents of that boy.”
