The search for Marc Jones, a 44-year-old man from Marlow who went missing during a visit to family in Hockley on December 23, has been temporarily halted following the discovery of a body in Hockley Woods. Essex Police have now confirmed the development.

However on Saturday morning Essex Police reported that a body of a man had been found in the vicinity of Hockley Woods. While formal identification is pending, the family of Marc Jones has been notified of this development and is currently receiving support from officers of Thames Valley Police.
A spokesman for Essex Police stated, “Alongside colleagues in Thames Valley Police (TVP), we worked to pursue reasonable lines of enquiry to locate Marc, including following up sightings which were reported to us and to TVP colleagues. We will provide an update on our investigation as soon as we practically can. At this time, our thoughts are very much with Marc’s family and those close to him.
