Thames Valley Police have confirmed that a body has been found in connection with the search for Kiel, a 36-year-old man from Reading who was reported missing on March 26, 2025.
Kiel was last seen leaving his home in Reading at 9:13am, wearing a black top, blue jeans, and a dark motorbike helmet. He was riding a green Kawasaki motorcycle with partial registration RX18*. Investigators believed he may have travelled to Andover, Hampshire, or Northampton town centre.
Discovery in Northamptonshire
On Saturday, April 12, a member of the public contacted Northamptonshire Police after discovering the body of a deceased man in woodland near the A428. Emergency services attended the scene and a coronial investigation is now underway in Northamptonshire.
Detective Inspector Stuart Streeter of Thames Valley Police said:
“Sadly, a man’s body has been found over the weekend in the Northamptonshire area.
Although formal identification has not yet taken place, the family of Kiel have been informed. Our thoughts are with them at this difficult time.”
Police added that no suspicious circumstances have been identified surrounding the death at this stage.
Public Appeal Prior to Discovery
Kiel’s disappearance prompted a widespread appeal from police and family members, who were concerned for his welfare. Officers had issued alerts asking members of the public—particularly in the Andover and Northampton areas—to look out for Kiel or his distinctive motorcycle.
At the time, Inspector Iain Watkinson said:
“We are continuing our enquiries and still appealing for the public’s help in tracing Kiel… If you see him, please call 999.”
Investigation Continues
Although identification is pending, police have expressed gratitude to the public for their support during the search. A post-mortem and inquest will be conducted as part of the formal proceedings to determine the cause of death.
The reference number 43250147109 remains active for any information related to the case. Anyone wishing to share details can still do so via Thames Valley Police’s online missing person form or by calling 101.
