Kent Police have recovered a body in a rural area near Hartlip as part of their search for a missing man from Sittingbourne.
Officers attended the scene on Sunday, 22 December, following the discovery of the body. While formal identification has not yet been completed, the family of a 65-year-old man reported missing on 21 November has been informed of the development.
Police have confirmed that the death is not being treated as suspicious. A report is being prepared for the coroner.
A spokesperson for Kent Police said:
“Our thoughts are with the family at this difficult time. We will continue to provide them with support as the identification process takes place.”
