ARSON PROBE Bird Watch House Reduced to Ashes in Suspected Arson Attack

 

A cherished bird watch house near the Humber Bridge has been completely destroyed in a fire believed to have been deliberately set, leaving repair costs of around £12,000.

Deliberate Blaze Hits Beloved Local Spot

The fire broke out at approximately 10:15pm on Wednesday 22 October, between the Humber Bridge Waterski Club and Barrow Haven Viewpoint. Humberside Police say the blaze “completely destroyed” the bird watch house, a peaceful hub for families and nature lovers.

Police Launch Appeal for Information

A police spokesperson urged the public for help. “Did someone you know come home smelling of smoke that night? Did you see or hear anything suspicious? Anyone talking about the fire?”

Sergeant Jackson added: “This damage isn’t just about property. It’s the loss of a community space treasured for years. We are determined to catch those responsible.”

Police Hunt for Arsonists Continues

  • CCTV footage is being examined.
  • Anyone with information is urged to call 101 quoting crime number 25*147833.
  • Anonymous tips can be reported to Crimestoppers.
