Bembridge RNLI’s All-Weather Lifeboat assists 24 foot motor boat with engine problems mid-Solent

RNLB Alfred Albert Williams’ (Tamar All Weather Lifeboat 16-17) was launched at 2.45pm this afternoon at the request of UK (Solent) Coastguard to assist a 24 foot motor boat that had broken down on the edge of the shipping channel to the east of No Man’s Land Fort with 3 people onboard. They had initially reported that their engine was smoking and then subsequently that they were taking in some water. The ‘Alfred Albert Williams’ was quickly on scene and having ascertained that the water ingress was minimal, set up a tow to Chichester harbour.
