Becontree Station Reopens After Police Closure

Becontree Station in Dagenham has reopened following a temporary closure earlier today due to an ongoing police investigation.

Transport for London (TfL) confirmed that the station resumed normal operations at around 9:45 am. The exact time of the initial closure remains unclear.

The closure prompted warnings from Barking & Dagenham Council, advising commuters to seek alternative routes during the disruption.

Earlier in the day, TfL issued a warning to commuters at 9:09 am, indicating that Becontree Station was closed due to the police investigation.

The Metropolitan Police stated that they believe the British Transport Police are handling the incident. However, further details regarding the nature of the investigation have not yet been disclosed.

TfL’s website initially listed Becontree Station under ‘Station Closures,’ but it has since been removed from that category.
